I wanted to share with you a Tutorial I am posting to my Youtube Channel on how to use a print and cut. Many scrapbooking kit clubs offer print and cuts or printables. Many times it would be easier to just stick it in your Silhouette Cameo and cut it out instead of having to hand cut it out.
I also created my own template in Adobo Photoshop as the image outline to use in the Silhouette Studio Software to use the print and cut feature.
You may copy my image to use for the silhouette if you want. Know that you must purchase the printables from Clique Kits in order to use them. You can however make your own images to cut with this template. It has some tags, flags and a 3×4 journalling card space. (You need two images in order to do the print and cut feature in the Silhouette Software.)
In order to use this image in the silhouette software it needs to be a PNG file.
Check out my tutorial below:
If you have any questions about the print and cut feature don’t hesitate to ask!!
Look forward to Tutorial on changing a png to a cut file next week!! Later in June I will be sharing a tutorial on creating a brush script title into a cut file as while on the Clique Kits Blog!!
Aloha!! I hope your day has been delightful! We have had glorious weather the past couple of weeks here in the Pacific Northwest Area, and we have been taking advantage of it by spending a lot of our time outside. Getting our garden ready, doing some much needed spring yard work done, also just soaking up some of those Vitamin D rays and playing with our puppy.
Today I want to share a layout I made using the June Aquarelle Kit from Clique Kits which features the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Wild at Heart Collection. It’s a gorgeous kit. It’s been really hard to know what to use first because I want to use it all.
I started off by cutting some of the exclusive cut files from this month with some from earlier and past kits. I also roughly sketch out my own sketch on some lined notebook paper. I do this when I have an idea of how I want the layout to look like. This helps me just into the groove of creating too.
I then used acrylic paint that I watered down and created a background that was ombre, I wanted it to look like a night sky going from black to blue to purple. I splattered some Shimmerz Acritonez in white and Navy to look like stars.
I glued down my cut files and then stitched lines from the top to the layout to the stars. I wanted it to look like the stars were hanging from the sky. I had a small issue with the tension in my thread so I had to compromise and only do a few lines. I then strung some of the May Exclusive Sequins on some string and hung it in one spot. It ended up being a really cool element.
I added the middles of the star cut file on pop dots and scattered them around the layout. There were some copper stars on the Alpha from Pink Fresh Studio in the kit and I used those too. This really tied down the concept of a night time starry sky.
I also used the Wild at Heart glitter enamel dots around the layout with some of the yellow flower sequins. I was hoping the yellow flowers would look more like stars.
I simply layered some of the papers behind my 4×6 photo of my kiddos on their first day of school. I kept the layers really simple because there is a lot going on on the layout. Also I realized once I had all the cut files down I almost had no room for the photo at all. OOPs. I hate when I do that too. I really didn’t want a double page spread at all, so I just decided to cover more of the star cut file than I would have liked. In the end it all worked out fine.
I used some of the April’s kit Elles Studio white alphas with the copper ones from this kit and made a mini title not eh photo itself. I even stitched through the white alphas. I really love how that looks.
I wrote the journalling under the photo and kept it nice and simple. Other than it being the first day of school there wasn’t anything more to this photo anyway.
I finished the layout off with some gold and white Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I like the way the gold looks like stars!!
Here is my finished layout.

Today Also is Clique Kits Pep Rally. This is where the members and design team get together and all post what they are working on with their monthly kits at the same on IG. Using the hashtag #click_connect_create and #ckpeprally you can find and see all the layouts and projects with the kit that day.
I love Pep Rally day, I love seeing everything everyone else has made. It really inspires me to finish my kit up and inspires me in the next kit.
Here is the layout I made for the Pep Rally.
This layout went through the ringer until it ended out like this!! I know I have said this before and I will keep saying it, I love the journey you go through when you make a layout.
I started out by using watered down acrylic paint on the resist speciality paper by KaiserKraft in the main kit. I sprayed a few spritzes of Shimmerz spray in Eggnoggin. It left this really pretty purple with hints of gold on it.
Once I added my bottom row of layered paper things started to change for me. I thought the purple would look amazing next to the soft mint greens and coral/pink colors of the Pink Fresh Studio Dream On Collection.
The problem was with the gold and the other colors, the blue and the yellow. I just didn’t like it. But in true mixed media style I kept going. Kept working the page, it always look crazy before it looks good , right?!!
I stitched in a zig zag pattern with my sewing machine. Added some squares with pop dots and some left over hearts from the exclusive cut file.
I still didn’t like the big blob of purple and gold. I then grabbed my white gesso, which really isn’t white. It’s creamy. Mixed with the paint and spray, this color was quite different from what I was thinking or liking. Which I will say is strange, I generally like lots of colors and try to work with what ends up on my page. I think with mixed media you need to have this mentality most of the time. There are just sometimes though, when you need to know when to throw in the towel. So … I threw in my towel.
The problem is, I really liked the stitching and layers at the bottom.
So I took a piece of white card stock and cut it down to cover most of the paint and gesso. I am sad that I couldn’t use that resist paper too. It looked really cool with just the paint. There always is next time, right?! This is what the journey of learning with mixed media is about. Learning from your mistakes!!
I mirrored the layering I had on the bottom up on the top of my page.
Using some of the same elements on the top as the bottom, like those cut file hearts, and other exclusives from the Traveler’s Notebook Kit. Then I stitched the same zig zag stitch on the top.
For my photo, I took leftover bits of patterned paper from my kit and layered then under. I have lots of layering so I only used and little bit of layering. I really wanted to focus to be on the layering on the top and bottom of the page.
I used one of the journaling printables for my journaling. I layered a couple of the smaller squares from the patterned paper, along with one of those cut file hearts. I added a puffy sticker from the kit and it looked really good.
I ended the layout with some Razzle-dazzle Berry Shimmerz Vibez in Splatters throughout my layout. I like the way that added some purple without being really bright or over the top.
This layout ended up being one of my fave that I have made lately, maybe it was the journey I went on. Maybe it is just because I had to work so hard to turn it into beautiful or maybe it’s just because it is soft, dreamy and so pretty!!
I also took the time to journal about this journey I have been taking throughout this past year or so, to better myself in the scrappy world. I really feel like I have changed in a good way to make my layouts better, and true to me. I have really worked hard to learn new skills and make my layouts better on the screen. You can have an amazing layout but if you share a dark and blurred photo of that layout, nobody will notice your work.
I love scrapbooking!! It truly has saved me in so many ways. To give back I want to learn to be better. To have something I can appreciate later in life, something my family will be proud to look through and have to share with future generations.
I feel so honored to be a part of this community and to finally have a chance to learn and grow in a new way with the scrapbooking design teams I am now a part of. They have inspired me to be a better me!!
If you have been following me this year, then you know that I have been trying really hard to keep up and do project life or pocket page documenting. A couple of years ago, I tried it for a few months. I really enjoyed it, but it really become too much for me to keep doing. My love is really for 12×12 scrapbooking and I tried to make my pockets like mini layouts. With my style back then it wasn’t a realistic goal.
Looking back at that scrapbooking album and seeing those pocket page spreads throughout our spring that year, they have became my favorite things to look through. I love seeing the progression of our lives throughout that spring and into summer. I really wish I hadn’t stopped. And maybe one day I will go back and finish that year. Maybe I will go back and finish part of last year too. I still have tons of photos that I haven’t used mainly because we moved in the year and it was hard to actually scrap current during that time.
I am a current scrapper, I love taking a photo and scrapping it 5 minutes later. I always have been. It is way I love printing at home. I think it is part of why I love pocket page scrapbooking. You can take your current stories and share them in a fresh new way.
Anyway, onward, I was asked to join in a collaboration with Mary and Kira of createcraftrepeat on IG and Youtube. Two really close scrappy friends who joined forces and started a youtube channel together. Sounds like so much fun right. We all love our scrappy bestie and collaborating with them is pure genius!!
Of course I said yes, I have a soft spot for scrappy friends who stick together and join forces, remember Ohsnapgonzo (Sandra) and Maggie Mylow (Lisa). They were one of the first scrappy bestie I saw on Youtube grow as friends and stick together and join forces and make a podcast. And they were fun, and I tagged along and learned so much from them!! Seriously if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be the scrapper I am today!! They encouraged me, and really let me join them on their journey of being scrappy besties far across the continent.
Since them we have seen many scrappy bestie friends join forces and do great things. But really it’s the encouragement you get from a person who loves scrapbooking the way you do. Who will chat scrappy ideas at midnight, who will listen to you ramble about how your layout sucks because it just doesn’t seem right, who will remind you you are the best mixed media scrapper, even when you know they are stretching it. These women are all over the community and help each other stoke the fire of scrapbooking!!
So Mary and Kira asked me if I would join them, and I said yes!! And of course I had a blast with this first Project Life Challenge. Our challenge was to take out about 5 extra cards then you would need for your spread. Pick all your cards randomly and then you needed to figure out a way to use them in your spread.
Well I almost picked about 5 extra cards, for each set of cards I needed. I picked about 5 4×6 cards and 5 to 7 3×4 cards. I picked as randomly as I could, though it was hard. All my cards are in different places throughout my room. My Ali Edwards Story Kits are in one place, my old cut apart pocket page cards in another, and out on my windowsill are my newer PL cards. I really feel I got a good mix of old and new cards.
Here is my process of picking and putting together my Project Life spread for March 4- March 10th.
Don’t forget to check out the other ladies joining in on the challenge and collaboration!! It is a fun line up today!
I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s day yesterday!! I was able to lounge around my house, watch sappy chick flick movies, cuddle my kids, hubby and dog, and not cook. That is pretty good in my house, because cooking and cleaning and getting up and down from the couch if I choose to relax is so common. Like most moms, it is nice to have a day where your kids try to remember to do things for you all day long.
Today I want to share a shaker 6X8 page protector insert that I made to go in my Week In The Life album I am putting together.
It is a small fun way to have some color and a bit of embellishing considering most of my album is simple and filled with words and stories and the photos that go along with the stories.
I used a 6X8 page protector with the 2X2 squares. I really don’t like adding photos to those since you can’t really see most in them anyway. Filling them with some chipboard embellies and some sequins is a way to add something special to my album with not to much effort.
I did need to use my fuse for the protector to close the little pockets. I also used an old sticker package for the thin acetate the stickers were on. I added my number Thickers on the acetate so it would appear to be floating. The sticker acetate is much thinner so it is really hard to see it. As long as you keep it clean, it shouldn’t show angle either.
You should let the alphas or numbers on the acetate dry before inserting them into the 2X2 pockets.
Next I picked two round elements, a wood veneer and a foam black thicker from Amy Tangerine. I added Pocket Full of Posies Sequins to those pockets and fused them shut.
I pulled out my Love U tons felt hearts in white and pale yellow. I used my mini stapler to keep two hearts that are different sizes together.
I filled the bottom pocket with the hearts and Jaded Hearts sequins. I used my fuse to close that pocket.
A little piece of advice I want to add is, make sure your fuse is hot but not too hot or the page protector will melt and not fuse properly. Also make sure the pockets that have the sticker packaging to hold the numbers and other stickers, isn’t too high. If you fuse with the sticker packaging in between the protector it won’t fuse. The Fuse is not hot enough to melt the sticker packaging, and it will just melt your protector.
After all my shaker pockets were filled I fused them and looked through my chipboard and other stickers to add a few more elements to my page. I choose stickers so when I placed them inside the pockets of the protectors they would stick on their own and stay suspended in the middle of the pocket. Later they may need a little dab of liquid glue to stay put for years. If you are wooded that that won’t hold you can also use a small strip of redline tape too.
I used some staples for my bigger chipboard pieces that were on top of the protector for a fun element.
This shaker pocket protector was really simple and quick to put together. It is a fun element to add to my Week In The Life album. The spring sequin mixes in the SpeigelMom Scraps store are an excellent choice to add a bit of color to my album as well.

Be sure to check out the Blog for other fun and amazing ideas as well. This year we have three different teams within the whole team, the ladies at the blog aren’t sharing on the Youtube channel, so you will see a great variety of projects and ideas all over social where you enjoy looking for it.
Aloha!!! Are you like me and have an iNSD hangover? I didn’t even scrap as much as I wanted to either?! LOL!! It sure was fun though! My biggest highlight was meeting up with some local Scrap Gals ladies and chatting and doing some scrapping together. There is just something really fun about connecting with people in the flesh who love the things you do. The extrovert in me was jumping up and down knowing I am finding my tribe here in Washington and really connecting to this area.
Here is a pic from this weekend!!
I can’t wait to get together with the ladies again.
Yesterday I felt the iNSD flow into this week with a blog post I had go live on the Clique Kits Blog. I am using the Sorbet May Kit, which has the Pink Fresh Studio Dream On Collection.
Here is a sneak peek of my double page layout for their May Challenge which was to use lots of gold, mixed media and the exclusive sketch and Cut File designed by Design Team Member Maryam.
I used the cut file with my sketch pens on the Silhouette Cameo, this feature is so much fun!! If you haven’t tried it, you really need too.
I used lots of exclusive printables that are available through the kit club. This month they are designed by Maryam and match the kit really well and super cute!!
There are also are printables for the new Traveler’s Notebook Kit Subscription that started this May. When you subscribe to the Main Kit and add the Traveler’s Notebook subscription you get a discount on your shipping price as well. There are options for getting a 6 month subscription or a 3 month subscription with the Traveler’s Notebook Kit and it coordinates with the Main kit as well.
Don’t forget too, if you use my code Hannah10 you can get 10% off the add ons in the store!!
You can also watch my process video for this layout on the Clique Kits Youtube Channel. The layouts I post there, don’t get posted anywhere else. So you may want to subscribe to their Youtube Channel so you will get notifications that I (or any of the other YT design team) posts on the YT Channel.
I hope you keep checking on and working on all the Challenges the Design Team posted in the Facebook Group this past iNSD weekend, they are open until the end of the month. YAY!! Because if you are anything like me, you didn’t get many of them started this weekend anyway. Plus what more fun is there than iNSD lasting throughout the whole month?!! 😉
I hope you have an inspiring week, my scrappy friends!! I will see you around!!
Aloha!! We are starting a new month ad it is exciting!! Today on my blog I have something super special. I am joining in with all of the new SpiegelMom Scraps Design Team for a blog hop to get to know all the Sparklers. There are so may new and talented ladies on the Team this year. I can’t wait to get to know them!!
Like all of the first of the month blog hops, make sure you check out each blog post and comment for a chance to win a store credit of $20 from Jody. At the end of my post I will have the line up so you can follow along the hop and if you lose your way you can always come back here or the first post at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog.
I am so thankful and excited to be apart of the Sparklers team again!! This team is so amazing and it really feels like I found my tribe being among all of them. I look forward to growing this year, learning this year and pushing myself even more this year. Trying some new things and perfecting more of the things I love to do as well.
This spring I really have felt called by media again. The fun you have when you get messy is like being a kid again. Saying that though my style has changed so much since I did a bunch of media a couple of years ago. It is all about playing and experimenting. Knowing not every thing is amazing but taking that knowledge and making something better the next time. Pushing the envelope of what feels comfortable. I love this growth in mixed media. You learn so much about yourself.
This Blog Hop is all about learning more about each other. I feel like doing mixed media requires you to bare your soul and put everything on the line. When it pays off it feels so good. But you also see the beauty in the journey that you take emotional as you create as well.
For this hop I wanted to create a currently type of spread. I am always thinking to myself that I want to do one, but rarely do it. Maybe it’s because I really have a hard time picking one thing that I have to love. I love so many things and always have so many answers. There is something though for taking a moment to say, this is where my mind is at right now. The real fact is next month’s right now won’t be the same.
I decided to use a Traveler’s Notebook as my canvas today. It’s a mixed media Traveler’s Notebook that I have from past Sparkler Beth Soler’s Esty Store. It’s so nice and think, perfect far adding lots of media and heavy mediums.
I pulled out a bunch of new Shimmerz products that I have recently gotten from the SpiegelMom Scraps Store to use. I wanted to challenge myself and use sprays, paste-eez, and acri-tonez altogether.
I also printed out a huge Traveler’s Notebook page size picture of myself from Easter. I dressed up wearing an old dress I bought when we lived in Hawaii. It’s flowing and has tons of flowers and trebling markings on it. It’s perfect on a spring and summery day. I don’t really want to forget about Hawaii so I love that I can wear it and remember all the memories from walking on the beach with this dress on, or eating a nice dinner with my husband in it.
I started off using a 3×4 Amy Tan Stencil to draw triangles on the page. This stencil is my favorite stencil. I love to use my pen to outline the pattern and create a different look depending how I use it.
Next grabbed the Shimmerz Acri-tonez paint in Jade and painted swathes in a few different spots. This is a cool way to add something dramatic but in moderation. I add plus signs in copper acrylic paint with a silkscreen. The metallic color against the bright color of the Acri-tonez really makes the color pop off the page.
After adding more acrylic paint to the page, and a wood veneer piece I want to add to my page later, I pull out my stencil again. I use the same one and try to lie it up almost straight. I added some Shimmerz Coloringz in Pink Stilettos to some Salt of the Earth Shimmerz Paste-eez and applied it throughs the stencil. Some of the triangles in the paste-eez were right over the drawn triangles and some were slightly off of it. I really love the dimension from the paste-eez. I also added some paste-eez with my palette knife across the page.
I stamped around the page with an Ali Edwards Week In the Life Stamp and ink. The fact that it is imperfect is really fun and unique. I also added some die cut flowers and stickers from the Cocoa Vanilla Wild At Heart Collection. I am digging the colors in this collection right now. I am having a really hard problem not using that collection for everything I create on my desk right now.
I placed a bunch of Hey Kiddo Sequins throughout the spread. Those little magenta flowers are adorable. They also match perfectly with my dress.
I used a full size 3X8 size photo or so to fit the Traveler’s Notebook page. I wanted it to be all me. Adding that painted wood veneer piece really adds interest to my page. Also I really like to bulk up my pages. I really don’t let the fact that things are heavy or thick stop me.
To finish off my other side I added a die cut at the bottom of the page and a rubber charm with another die cut watercolor flower.
One of my new favorite tools is my gold mini DIY stapler. It’s gold, so that makes it awesome but also the little tiny staples add just the right amount of metal to projects. I just about use it every time I create now.
Now I did this super fun and beautiful page, but I still wanted to add a currently list of things I have been digging. I use a pocket page card from Citrus Twist, in the pocket page kits.
I did all my journaling on the card and attached it to the next page with a thin piece of washi tape. I added tape to both the front and back side so in the future I can flip the journaling card and add more journaling. I love this concept about Traveler’s Notebook and being able to keep adding things to the pages.
I also used a strip of patterned paper, a sticker and a die cut to the page to finish it. I kept it really simple but pretty.
Just in case if it’s a bit too hard to read my journaling, this is what I am currently loving!!
Loving: Mixed Media.. I have been itching to pull out my messy things and play. I also have been loving the Traveler’s Notebook size.
Reading: Rick Yancey, The Infinite Sea. This is book number 2 of the 5th Wave series. Even though it really has taken me forever to read it. I think because it is the second book it just isn’t as gripping as the first. There still is tons of character development. So I just keep reading little bits here and there. (I don’t ever have to worry about never picking up a book, so these periods where a hardly read. next month I could read 3 books in one month.) I have been enjoy the YA dystopian genre, it used to seen so far fetched.
Eating: Curries. I have been craving curries of all kinds, Thai green Curry. Tiki Masala. Peanut curry. Yum Yum. Now I am hungry and want some of that luxurious sauce and hearty potatoes and meat.
Drinking: COFFEE. This never changes. Its almost all I drink, besides water. Sometimes I will drink some coconut water when I am feeling dehydrated. I have also been thinking about Sun Tea, now that the sun is starting to come out. Being from New York and Upstate, I am a purist. Just Tea, no sugar. That is just how it is suppose to be. Though if you want to add fruit, I may be ok with that.
Where: (Geotag) Okay I am just gonna say, I am boring most of the time. I go now where and want to spend most of my time scrapping, even though I can’t because of chores and mom stuff. But I am really boring. I barley go places. LOL. Never thought that would be my life. Thank you introvert hubby, has slowly turned my into a introvert who wants to spend days at home doing nothing but reading, scrapping and watching netflix. I am however thinking about camping and hiking lately. I love that we live somewhere where I can do those things. I am hoping soon we can make a hiking or nature walk trip to Mt. Rainer or around close by.
Picture: I have been spending all weekend working on NSD stuff. I also have been finishing up WITL this past week. I haven’t actually been taking as many pictures as I would like, but then again we aren’t doing a ton of way special things so I just take pictures of things that warm my should or inspire me. I have been thinking maybe I should finish a DSLR class I bought last year. It’s never to late to keep learning.
I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me a bit more. I have enjoyed sharing a bit of myself each time I create a layout. Because really that is who I scrapbook for, telling my story. It just happens I have some amazing family members who show up a lot in my story and I love that too.
